Bayview massage, a short drive up Highway 54
Jessie’s private studio is in Athol, about 13 minutes west of Bayview past Farragut State Park. She is the only therapist at Work Well Massage, so the person who works on your shoulders this summer is the same one you see next spring.
The route
Getting here from Bayview
From Bayview, drive west on Idaho Highway 54, alongside Farragut State Park, and continue into Athol. The trip is about 13 minutes and about 8 miles with no traffic, one of the easiest drives to the studio from anywhere on Lake Pend Oreille.
3125 E Briar CtAthol, ID 83801
The studio is a private room in Jessie’s home rather than a shopfront. Plug the address into your map app, and call or text (208) 410-4005 if you need directions on your first trip.
Because the drive is short, it is easy to leave the marina or the trailhead and be on the table a quarter of an hour later. Spirit Lake sits on the same highway just past Athol; that page is Spirit Lake massage. A full list of towns and drive times is on the areas Work Well serves page.
On the water and in the park
Massage for life at the south end of Lake Pend Oreille
Bayview is a lake town first. Idaho’s largest lake starts at its doorstep, and a lot of local life involves boats: launching them, cleaning them, tying them off and pulling them out before winter. Next door, Farragut State Park adds miles of trails, campgrounds and room to ride.
Boating, paddling and dock shoulders
Hours of paddling or hauling lines leave the front of the shoulders tight and the upper back overstretched. Thai massage pairs rhythmic pressure with assisted stretching, which many paddlers find opens the chest and shoulders in a way lying still on a table does not.
Trail miles at Farragut
Hiking and riding the park’s trails is gentle on the joints but hard on calves, hamstrings and hips, especially early in the season. Thai work or a firmer deep tissue session focused on the legs can help those muscles recover between outings.
A full-body reset after a busy season
Summer at the lake is good work and still work. When the season winds down and you feel worn thin rather than sore in one spot, Lomi Lomi massage uses long, flowing forearm strokes over the whole body, a good fit when the goal is a full reset rather than fixing one sore spot.
Deep Tissue Massage
Pressure: Firm
Slow, focused pressure into the deeper layers of muscle for stubborn knots and chronic tightness.
Best for: Chronic neck, back and shoulder pain
Lomi Lomi Massage
Pressure: Medium
Hawaiian-style massage with long, continuous forearm strokes that flow across the whole body.
Best for: Whole-body reset, emotional stress
Thai Massage
Pressure: Medium
Assisted stretching and rhythmic compression to open tight hips, hamstrings and shoulders.
Best for: Stiffness, flexibility, active lifestyles
Worth the trip
Why Bayview clients choose Work Well
There is no front desk and no rotating staff. You book with Jessie and you get Jessie.
That continuity matters if you come in a few times a year. She keeps track of what bothered you in May, how the season went and where to start in October, so no visit begins from zero.
Jessie has worked as a massage therapist since 2008. Work Well is Christian-owned, and she runs it with straightforward honesty, a respectful room and firm professional boundaries.
One price for every style
Thai, Lomi Lomi and deep tissue all cost the same: $100 for an hour; 90 minutes is $140 and two hours is $180. Heated stones and aromatherapy oils are part of the session, not extras. Details are on the Work Well pricing page.
First time
What your first session looks like
Your first appointment opens with a short conversation: where it hurts, what you have been doing on the lake or the trails, and how firm you like the pressure. Then you settle onto the table in private, and the massage runs for the full time you booked.
During the session Jessie checks in on pressure, especially in the first few minutes, so speak up if anything is too much or not enough. Warm stones and essential oils can be part of any booking; if you would rather go without scent, just say so.
Afterward, drink some water and take Highway 54 home slowly if you can. Many people feel loose and a little sleepy for the rest of the day, and deeper work can leave mild soreness the next morning that usually fades within a day or two.
Visiting the area and camping at Farragut for the week? You are welcome to book too. The first visit guide covers the details, and the Massage Match quiz helps narrow down a style before you book.
Bayview FAQ
Questions from Bayview neighbors
Is there a massage therapist near Bayview?
Yes. Work Well Massage is in Athol, about 13 minutes west of Bayview on Highway 54. It is a private studio run by Jessie, a licensed massage therapist practicing since 2008, and every appointment is one-on-one with her. Book online or call or text (208) 410-4005.
Will you come out to a Bayview home or float home?
No. Jessie does not offer mobile or in-home massage anywhere, including Bayview. Every session happens in her studio in Athol, where the table, warm stones and oils are ready. The drive along Highway 54 is short, about 13 minutes from the middle of Bayview.
What should I book after a weekend of paddling?
If your shoulders and upper back feel tight and short, Thai massage is a good choice because it adds assisted stretching. If you mostly want firm work on specific knots, ask for deep tissue. Either way the price is the same, so you can let Jessie adjust once she feels what is going on.
Can I book in the busy summer months?
Yes. The studio is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with Saturdays by appointment, all year. Booking a week or two ahead gives you the widest choice of times. Online booking shows open times right away.
